9am - 4pm Sunday
Food can be ordered until 3pm every day; drinks & cakes can be ordered up to 4pm. Breakfast served all day (last orders 3pm).
Bookings are not generally required, however if you have a large group or know you are coming for Afternoon Tea, please book in ahead of your visit.
The Café at Hartley’s was a welcome addition to our garden centre back in 2011. A place for our visitors to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy some home-made fresh food or refreshing drink whilst taking in the unique green and floral environment surrounding them.
Our talented chefs prepare fresh seasonal hot and cold food on a daily basis, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. The Café at Hartley’s offers a range of food choices; from the famous ‘Bill’s Breakfast, light lunch bites and children’s menu to keep the little ones happy. Our home-baked cakes and scones are delicious, and perfectly accompany a hot coffee or pot of tea with friends.
A popular choice for many of our guests is our Afternoon Tea for Two. Served between 1pm and 3.30pm daily, our Afternoon Tea for Two includes a selection of hand cut sandwiches, home-baked mini scones with all the trimmings, variety of freshly made cakes and not forgetting a big pot of English Breakfast Tea.

"We use the Cafe at Hartleys several times a year as a cafe stop while out cycling, I always prefer to message them in advance as it's a busy cafe and they reserve tables for us.
The staff are very friendly and the food has always been great on our visits, and we have never had any issues with the food or service. And the fact the cafe is always busy speaks for itself in my opinion, and one we will always use."

"I have been a regular customer here for several years, usually indulging myself in the excellent Bill's breakfast. All the food is top quality and cooked fresh to order (you can actually watch the chef plating it up). The hot beverages are excellent and the hot chocolate is the best I've had anywhere! The staff are welcoming and friendly and service is good. Oh and did I mention the freshly home made cakes. Top notch."

"Popped into the fab family run garden center to buy a bouquet from their superb flower room and grabbed a brew from the café whilst there. I was delighted to spot that they were offering vegan scones! Freshly baked, warm, little bit crumbly in texture an amazing size and taste, by far the best vegan scone I've ever had. Friendly staff offered vegan butter with the scone but I had mine just with jam. If they had a vegan cream too that would have been excellent but was very happy with what I had. It was so delicious that I bought a further four to take home for the family. Was also pleased to hear that they'll be adding vegan options to the menu to try in the future."
